Results ECWO 2016 Geplaatst op 21 mei 2016. May 21st in Utrecht (the Netherlands) will be remembered as ‘Day of Wind Music’. In the entire city music societies have promoted the sector. The absolute pinnacle was the first European championship for wind orchestras (ECWO) in the TivoliVredenburg concert hall. Eight orchestras from eight European countries competed for the first European title. They performed a concert program that included a test piece (Cerebral Vortex – Øyvind Moe) completed with a free program. An international jury consisting of Irene Anda (Norway), Simone Rebello (United Kingdom), Jan Van der Roost (Belgium) with the indepent chairman Jan van den Eijnden (The Netherlands) had the difficult task of judging the best out of eight fantastic concerts. More than 1200 spectators witnessed music on top level. The organization was done by ECWO, KNMO and ZIMIHC. The main sponsor was Buffet Crampon. Below you will find the complete results.
